Handel’s Messiah on Music Sunday

At our next Music Sunday service (date is TBD, postponed from March 15), our choir with perform Part 2 of Handel's Messiah with an ensemble of strings, trumpets, and organ.  Part 2 depicts prophecies of Christ's suffering, death, and triumph over evil, culminating musically with the the Hallelujah chorus.  Its message has underlying resonance with our current season of Lent.  We performed Part 1 of Messiah this past December, and we will complete our cycle with Part 3 later this spring. ...
