Interfaith Action

FCCI is now a hub in Ithaca of interfaith collaboration and action.  Our church is the home office of the Interfaith Center for Action and Healing.  We also host in our sanctuary the High Holy Days of congregation Tikkun v’Or, a Reform Jewish Synagogue in Ithaca. And we have been the home of the Al-Huda Islamic Center of Ithaca.  Members of Al-Huda have prayed daily in our chapel, hosted weekly religious education classes, and monthly community gatherings.

FCCI has always been a diverse, religiously eclectic place, but now, in the spirit of Jesus’ Parable of the Good Samaritan, our church is putting our commitment to compassion and inclusivity into action by hosting interfaith groups and pursuing initiatives in our community that build relationships across religious differences.  We believe that God, the Sacred Source of all creation, is smiling at our efforts to treat all people with dignity, justice, and compassion.
