Children's Ministry

Our Mission

The Mission of our Children's Ministries program is to ensure that children come to know their church as a safe place to worship, learn about God and our Church, and develop a strong faith community. The programs support the religious and social education of infants through 6th graders through church school, children’s worship experiences and other activity events throughout the year.

Children’s Outreach Opportunities

The church school children are involved in various service projects throughout the year such as Thanksgiving food baskets delivered to needy families in the area; the Warm Woolly Tree for collecting scarves, hats and mittens; making lunches for the Rescue Mission, gathering items for local food pantries, and collecting children’s books for at risk children.

The Children’s Ministries Committee plans and sponsors several family and inter-generational events throughout the year. Our Christmas crafts event in December is a wonderful time together. Movie nights, potluck dinners, and family game nights are a great way to spend time with church friends and bring new friends to see our church.

Get involved!

How can you help us with our children's programs?

  • Volunteer to be a greeter! Assist the leader during a Sunday worship session. Greeters welcome children to worship, set up snack and help children during an art response time.
  • Volunteer in the Beam Nursery! Our littlest members need friends to guide them as they play, hear a bible story and complete a simple craft. We need 2 people each week, so there is always room on the schedule for volunteers!
  • Prepare worship materials! Wood cutouts and fabric underlays are a big part of our storytelling segment of Children’s Worship. Every year we need folks to gather and prepare some simple supplies. If you have a jig saw or a knack for working with fabrics – we need you!!
  • Get trained to be a substitute leader! Be a substitute as the worship leader when needed. You will observe a few sessions and then when it comes time to “sub,” the session you are presenting will be prepared and scripted out for you.
  • Staff and Volunteers

The Director of Children's Ministries is employed by the church and is responsible for the coordination of children’s programming. We also have many volunteers from our congregation who assist the director with the various programs. The Children's Ministries Committee is also a vital part of our program. If you are interested in volunteering in any way, please contact Stacy.
